Sifu Leong Lim is an Instructor under Sifu Abe Santos and Sifu Mike Hilow, who are two of only four Full Instructors directly-certified by the late Taky Kimura, Bruce Lee’s highest-ranked Certified Instructor and best friend.
While residing in the US for many years, Sifu Leong had the privilege of training under Sigung Taky’s watchful eye at Bruce Lee’s original Seattle school, becoming certified as a Senior Student and serving as the school’s Demo Team Lead for several years.
In the mid to late 2010’s he travelled with Sigung Taky, assisting him at several instructional seminars in North America (Seattle, Rhode Island, Vancouver and Calgary) prior to helping establish the Jun Fan Gung Fu Academy in Seattle’s Chinatown International District with Sifu Abe Santos and Sifu Mike Hilow in March 2018.
Originally established in Seattle, the Jun Fan Gung Fu Academy’s core mission as a non-commercial and private school is to perpetuate and advance the legacy, teachings and art of Jun Fan Gung Fu from the Seattle-era as well as Jeet Kune Do (JKD) — as taught by Bruce Lee directly to Taky Kimura — in the broader martial arts community. We also strive to serve those in our community who may benefit from learning our art.
Our parent school in Seattle is also honoured to be the only JKD school in the world that has been endorsed by Bruce Lee’s widow, Linda Lee Cadwell.
Sifu Leong is the first and only instructor from Taky Kimura’s lineage to teach outside of the US/EU. He is honoured to share and perpetuate the art, teachings and legacy of Sijo Bruce and Sigung Taky from the Seattle-era for the first time in Australia.
